Instituto Superior de Arte

The Instituto Superior de Arte (Short form: ISA, also: Universidad de las Artes) is a university educational institution in Havana / Cuba. It was founded in 1976 and is the highest level of art education in Cuba to make sure. Founding Rector was the famous educator and art critic Mario Rodríguez Alemán.

The ISA consisted initially of three faculties: Fine Arts (Artes Plásticas ) Performing arts ( for Performing Arts ) and music. 1987 and 1989 were the faculties of dance art (Arte danzario ), added with the specializations ballet, contemporary and folk dance and the Faculty of Media of audiovisual communication ( Medios de Comunicación Audiovisual ). In 1994, the faculties of dance and drama were merged for economic reasons.
