Integrated library system

As an Integrated Library System, also known as ILS or LMS after the English names integrated library system and library management system, an ERP software is called that is used to manage a library. The integrated software packages typically include features for the acquisition, the library catalog OPAC and the loan. Even with the designations library software or library management software are usually integrated library systems meant.

Operation

An ILS usually consists of a relational database, software to interact with the database, and different graphical user interfaces for the users and the staff of the library. Most ILS share the features of their software into individual programs, which are called modules and are integrated into a unified interface.
