Intel International Science and Engineering Fair

The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair ( Intel ISEF ) is the largest pre-university research competition in the world. Since 1997, Intel is the title sponsor.

It is organized by Society for Science & the Public ( SSP ), a non -profit organization based in Washington, DC The SSP founded the ISEF 1950.

International competition since 1958, when Canada, Japan and the Federal Republic of Germany involved. It is held annually in May. With over 1,500 participating students are determined in national and regional competitions. The German -speaking countries is supported by Young Researchers innovative represented in Austria in Germany and youth, almost any state of the United States, however, several times. At the ISEF several hundred prizes are donated and awarded by a few hundred to several thousand dollars.

Already since 1942 organized the talent (STS ) Science Search SSP, before Intel with Westinghouse as a sponsor. Seven finalists of the STS later received the Nobel Prize.
