Interactivity

Interactivity (Latin: inter transient = " reciprocally" and " correlated " ) denotes in general a correlation between any two or more variables to be exchanged on implicit information. The sociological concept of interactivity comes from people who can perceive each other and adjust their behavior to each other while in the information technology, the relationship between humans and computers is meant.

Areas of application of the term

Interaction is multidiskursiv, in the various disciplines, there are different views on what is meant by the term. In sociology, one speaks only of interaction and not of interactivity, in the communication science and computer science, however, the terms interaction and interactivity are used interchangeably, however.

Whereas interaction in sociology and social psychology describes the reciprocal relationship between two or more persons for the purpose of communication or discussion in the computer science of the relationship between humans and machines, in communications science, it describes the relationship between text and reader and also reciprocal human relationships and communication through media.

In the design of educational multimedia applications interactivity refers to the properties of the software, allowing the user a variety of intervention and control. The interactivity will allow individualisierteres learning because the choice and the manner of presentation of information prior knowledge, interests and needs of the learner adaptable, and can be manipulated by this.

Strzebkowski divided interactivity in learning environmental activities, navigation and dialog functions, activities in the information presentation, editing functions for presenting contents and processing capabilities of the database. Strzebkowski / Kleeberg then group them for learning software only under control interactions and didactic interactions. Control interactions include the actions that serve the limited purpose of controlling the computer and the software. Didactic interactions, however, are much more complex and supports the achievement of learning objectives.

In particular, in learning opportunities that build on constructivist learning theories of interactivity will be given a high priority. Finally, it is the aim of such learning opportunities to encourage the learner to own activity and constructiveness.

In the social sciences it is called interactivity only if two individuals are in contact with each and influence each other in their mutual actions. Interactivity can be done directly or mediated by media such as telephone, e -mail or chat between people. So it's another about the interaction of actions of different people. In the social sciences we speak of interactions when it comes to reciprocal actions.

In contrast, it is quite common also to speak in the field of computer technology, interactivity, when a man with a computer " interacts ". In this case, the mutual reference is considered. Both the person and the computer have to but different choices available. An exclusive provision of information, for example on a website would not be described as interactive or interaction. Also known interaction always the relationship between man and machine, but not the communication between two people by a machine, as is the case for example when chatting.
