The Intercambiador de Transportes de Santa Cruz de Tenerife consists of a bus station, the terminus of the tram and a car park with 1,416 spaces. The purpose of the in 2006 on the site of the old Estación de Guaguas (bus station) built building is to facilitate the passenger to switch between different transport options. It is located opposite the department store El Corte Inglés and the Rascaciellos between Avenida Tres de Mayo, Calle Fomento and Calle Victor Zurita Soler.

The building has six floors of which the third to the east and the sixth to the west are at ground level. At the level -2 and garage parking and storage rooms on level -1, a water and a fuel depot in addition to the parking accommodated. At level 0 is the entrance hall with shops and service facilities for the traveler. Outside the building is located on this level, the terminus of the tram to La Laguna as well as some bus stops for shuttle buses, for example, to the ferries. At levels 1, there are offices out of the parking area. At the level 2 is the final stop of a large part of the local trains running in Santa Cruz buses. The termini of intercity buses in the south and in the north of the island are at the level 3
