Intercontinental Poker Championship

The Intercontinental Poker Championship is a poker tournament in which take 21 professional poker players from as many nations against each other. Fighting was done at the Palms Hotel from 14th to 16th April 2006.

The broadcasting rights in Germany are at Sport 1.

Game Mode

The variant Texas Hold'em No Limit Played The 21 players were divided into three groups of seven players. The winner of each group game rose to the semi-finals. The six remaining players from each group were again against each other, but here only the winner went on.

In the semifinals six players competed against each other, with only the best rise to the Heads Up. The remaining players played repeatedly for a place at the final table.

The tournament was won by the Japanese Yosh Nakano ago Tony G from Australia. Nakano won for $ 350,000 while for the achievement of the second place $ 150,000 were awarded.

2007

For 2007, the IPC was scheduled between the 16th and February 18th. The good image of the cups had now attracted more participants, out of which 24 were selected. The price rose to $ 750,000 for the winner and $ 250,000 for the second. Six groups of four players each were formed. The winners of the semi-finals, the Second came to the seventh semi-final place in an extra match against each other. From the semi-finals of the winner, in Match 2 of the winner and also the winner of the third game in the match rose to 1. However, there was only one final with three players.
