Inter Economics publishes contributions in English by well-known authors from academia, government and industry on current issues of economic and social policy in Europe. The journal intends to build a bridge between science and political practice and inform readers scientifically sound and in non-technical language of current economic policy issues. It belongs to the traditional economics journals.

Publication

Intereconomics first appeared in 1966 in Hamburg, where the editor is located today. Since 2007 Intereconomics is due to the dissolution of the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWA ) of the German National Library of Economics (ZBW ) - Leibniz Information Centre for Economics - issued. In the scientific advisory board of economists were appointed, the feel of the scientific and evidence-based policy advice obliged.

Since January 2009, Inter Economics is jointly organized by ZBW and the Brussels think tank the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS ) - issued.

Intereconomics consists of the sections Editorial, Forum, Articles, and Economic Trends. In the editorial of a recent economic -political event or issue is commented on briefly while a topic from different perspectives and schools of thought will be discussed in the forum in several contributions. The Forum provides an overview of the state of the discussion in the relevant field and is usually the focus of this issue represents the Articles thematize other economic policy issues and trends. They are mostly written by European economic researchers.
