Network operator ( DNO ) denotes a network operator of a long-distance telephone network ( interconnection network ) for switching local area network connections spanning.

At telephone connections established network operator for the compounds ( voice, fax, narrowband data links ) can be used carrier network operators in individual cases by call-by -call, or permanently selected by means of preselection.

The incumbent operator in the local network ( ILEC ) are required for this purpose interconnection with the carrier network operators.
