Intergraph

Intergraph is just under 3,700 employees, a software company in the segment Spatial Information Management (SIM, technical language for spatially-referenced information management), Public Safety, geographic information systems (GIS ) as well as plant and process engineering, headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama in the United States. Early July 2010, Intergraph was acquired Sweden at a price of approximately 2.1 billion U.S. dollars of Hexagon AB.

The objective is to manage complex data in a clear and practical way and to visualize - mostly by visualization components such as digital cards - to make operating decisions better and faster to be able to produce "smart cards " to manage task-related operating facilities and infrastructure, equipment and to build ships and to operate and to operate mission control systems and to ensure public safety.

Intergraph exists in the U.S. since 1978 in Germany since 1969.

Plant Design System / Smart Plant & Smart Marine

Plant Design System (PDS ) is a Unix -based first on computers in 1984 introduced plant design system from Intergraph. With this engineering software it even then it was possible to plan large industrial plants quickly and easily. The software has the following options: process schemes intelligently draw ( Schematics Environment) acquisition in a 3D design landscape with the features Mechanical Engineering ( Equipment Modeling), steel ( FrameWorks Environment), Piping Design ( Piping Designer), cable trays and electronic design (Electrical Raceway Environment) and automatic generation of 2D derivatives ( Drawing Manager Isomatric Drawing Manager ). PDS was later ported to Windows NT 3.5 machines. Meanwhile, the version 11:01 exists with certification on Windows 7 and Windows 2008 -based IBM PCs.

SmartPlant Enterprise and Smart Marine Enterprise are two modular succession solutions, which are broken down into different components:

  • 3D modeling and visualization - Enables optimal use of existing knowledge, high-quality, uniform designs, as well as the global use of best practices.
  • Information Management - Provides a holistic concept for the electronic creation, storage and management of design data throughout the entire life cycle.
  • Engineering and schemas - Covers the equipment front-end and detailed planning with regard from plant configurations, control systems and energy supply.
  • Procurement, manufacturing and construction - Covers the entire range of project execution from, from engineering, procurement and monitoring to construction.
  • Analysis - Connects plant design and engineering analysis solutions for system analysis, which provide precise and reliable results.
  • Industry solutions for plant owner / operator

A competing product is Plant Design Management System ( PDMS) of AVEVA.

In the German-speaking area are used by many large corporations to small engineering firms.

In this software segment is held annually a user conference called cegug.

GeoMedia

GeoMedia is a strategy introduced in 1997 geoinformation system (GIS) by Intergraph. GeoMedia designated a comprehensive software product family, mainly divided into desktop GIS ( GeoMedia and GeoMedia Professional ) and Web - GIS ( GeoMedia WebMap and GeoMedia WebMap Professional). In addition, there are other GeoMedia solutions to local issues, Gelände-/Höhenmodellverarbeitung, processing Raster-/Vektorimages, etc. and finally GeoMedia Plus with strong CAD component.

Main competitor is the product of ESRI ArcInfo, took second place in the global as well as on the German market just behind the GeoMedia.

In Germany the GeoMedia software is used by many state administrations, local authorities, companies and universities.

Overall Intergraph recorded in Germany over 3000 customers, from Deutsche Bahn, various RUs, the E.ON Group group RWE, the German armed forces, over Edeka, Bavarian savings banks, industrial parks like Infraserv and Bayer Leverkusen, to large, medium, small cities and towns.
