Interior ministry

The ministry includes not only the Department of Defense (formerly the War Department ), the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the classical ministries that already emerged in the cabinets of the absolutist kings.

The Home Office is concerned with questions of internal policy, in particular is under his administration. Many of today's ministries dealing with issues that were originally assigned to the Interior Ministry, but were hived off to emphasize their importance. This is the case for the Ministry of Environment or the Ministry of Social Affairs. Often the tasks of the Ministry of the Interior also includes the issues of internal security. In federal states there are interior ministries often both at the federal and at the state level. Some autonomous and dependent territories also have interior ministries.
