International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement
The International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA ) is an international association for educational research and must be understood in the international system - monitoring as a global player. It was founded in 1958 and has its headquarters in Amsterdam ( NL). The IEA organized student assessment studies such as TIMSS and PIRLS / PIRLS; also assessment studies, such as large projects like comped (Computers in Education) and SITES ( Second International Technology in Education Study). The methodology developed for this purpose has also influenced the work carried out by the OECD PISA studies.
Austria has so far only involved in two IEA studies: comped ( HAIDER 1994) and TIMSS ( HAIDER 1996).
