International Baseball Federation

The International Baseball Federation ( IBAF ) is the world baseball organization based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The association was founded in 1938. Throughout the years, several times changed the name of the Association. From 1944 was the official name Federación Internacional de Béisbol Amateur ( FIBA ), 1973, split the competing union with the name Federación Mundial de Béisbol Amateur ( FEMBA ) from. The associations, however, united in 1976 again, this time under the name of International Baseball Association ( AINBA ). 1984, the official abbreviation in IBA was changed before it was agreed in 2000 on a return to the original name International Baseball Federation and the original abbreviation IBAF.

In 2013 the Association merged with the International Softball Federation for World Baseball Softball Confederation
