International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame

The International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame is an American hall of fame that honors significant musicians of the Bluegrass recording every year.

History

The Bluegrass Hall of Fame was established in 1991 under the name " International Bluegrass Hall of Honor ". The first honorees were Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs and the "Father of Bluegrass " Bill Monroe. The Hall of Fame honors each year pioneers of bluegrass or other significant artists of the genre. Each year, nominated by over 200 personalities from the music industry artists are included of which ultimately five during the awarding of the International Bluegrass Music Awards.

The Hall of Fame is operated by the International Bluegrass Music Association and has its headquarters in the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, Kentucky.
