The International Council on Monuments and Sites ( ICOMOS ), the International Council on Monuments and Sites.

It was founded in 1965 in Warsaw in the wake of the signing of the Charter of Venice ( 1964) and is a sub-organization of UNESCO. ICOMOS is committed to maintaining protection and maintenance of monuments and the preservation of historical heritage. He advises UNESCO on historic preservation issues of world cultural heritage.
