International Federation of Liberal Youth

The in the British capital London-based International Federation of Liberal Youth ( Engl.: " International Federation of Liberal Youth) " ), IFLRY, is an alliance of liberal youth organizations around the world and at the same time, the youth wing of the Liberal International LI. The Macedonians Emil Kirjas of the Liberal Democrats ( LibDem ) Macedonia from 2003 to 2005 Chairman of the organization and was replaced on 1 January 2006 by the Dane Jacob Rasmussen. By 2001, the organization introduced as an additional adjective the word Radical, but was rated as out of date, which led to its removal, the acronym, has been preserved for historical and practical reasons.

The German FDP youth, the Young Liberals, are members of the IFLRY, until January 2008 as the Association of Liberal university groups. The Young Liberals Switzerland who are close to the FDP, and the Young Liberals Austria belong to the IFLRY.

History

The first session of konstitutierende IFLRY took place in 1979 in Silkeborg, Denmark. IFLRY sparked both the World Federation of Liberal and Radical Youth and the European Federation of Liberal and Radical Youth from as partly competing, organizations and pooled their skills.

First was on 26 August 1946, the World Federation of Liberal and Radical Youth in Cambridge, founded the UK but broke in 1978 together, as the dominance of the Founded in 1969, European young liberal organization European Federation of Liberal and Radical Youth was no longer to reverse and its parent organization made redundant.

In recent years IFLRY has grown steadily. Until the turn of the millennium had IFLRY members on all continents and over 80 full - and advisory member organizations on all continents, in 2005 there were 90

In 2006, the Association of Brussels, moved to London.

Work

IFLRY held regularly throughout the world congresses, seminars and demonstrations to draw attention to the interests and suggestions of young liberal for a liberal world and has evolved despite its comparatively short history, a strong representative young - liberal interests.

Construction

The highest decision-making body is the General Assembly. She decides both changes to the ideological basis of the organization, the manifesto as well as the action plan. At European level, there is a union of all liberal youth organizations under the name LYMEC.
