International Floorball Federation
The International Floorball Federation (IFF ), founded on May 12, 1986 in Huskvarna, is a professional sports association representing the sport of floorball world. Its membership currently includes 52 organizations with more than 277 752 players in 3,983 clubs ( as of 2010).
The IFF has its registered office and its office in Helsinki, Finland.
She is a member of SportAccord (until 2009 GAISF / General Association of International Sports Federation) and was provisionally recognized on 11 December 2008 by the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee as a sport. The IFF now seeks inclusion in the program of the 2020 Olympic Games.
In January 2009 it was announced that floorball was recognized as a sport by the Special Olympics movement, which organizes the World Games for the mentally and physically handicapped people. The IFF strives to be represented in the Special Olympics program in 2013 at the latest.
The IFF is also working with the International University Sports Federation ( FISU ).
