International Fritz Kreisler Competition

As International Fritz Kreisler Competition the first event (for international violinists up to age 30 years ) took place in 1979 in Vienna. The competition is held every four years at the Vienna Konzerthaus from the end of September. The Fritz Kreisler Company is the organizer. The six finalists will receive staged cash prizes between four and twelve thousand euros. The first three winners play in the finals together with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and will get additional funding from concert performances and CD recordings. First Prize winners will receive - at corresponding highest quality - a solo performance with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra at the Salzburg Festival.
