International Institute for Neuroscience of Natal

The International Institute for Neurosciences of Natal - Edmond and Lily Safra ( IINN -ELS - Portuguese: Instituto Internacional de Neurociências de Natal - Edmond e Lily Safra ) is a research institute near Natal, the capital of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte. The main task of the institute is in the area of neuroscience. It was founded by Miguel Nicolelis, Sidarta Ribeiro and Claudio Mello, all scientists who gained reputation in the United States. The IINN -ELS has taken on the task of Brazil - in particular, the structurally weak region in the north of the country - to establish itself as a center for research.
