International New York Times

The International New York Times ( INYT ), formerly International Herald Tribune ( IHT), is an English-language international daily newspaper which is updated daily sold in more than 160 countries. It belongs to the New York Times Company and is editorially closely at the daily New York Times ( NYT ) connected, which supplies them together with its own staff with news and articles. The headquarters of the newspaper is in Paris. It describes itself as "the Global Edition of the New York Times ."

History

The newspaper was founded on 4 October 1887 by the then owner of the New York Herald, James Gordon Bennett Jr., under the name Paris Herald as a European edition of his newspaper. After changing hands several times the sheet in 1935 in The New York Herald Tribune and 1967, as the owners of the New York Times and the Washington Post have invested in the newspaper, renamed The International Herald Tribune. As of 1991, the newspaper was one of equal proportions of the New York Times Company and the Washington Post Company, although the two companies are competitors in the U.S. market.

Since 2003, The New York Times Company sole owner of the newspaper, after they had acquired the unit of the Washington Post. The union of the web presences of NYT and IHT under the umbrella of the New York Times in March 2009; since October 15, 2013, the Journal appears under the name The International New York Times.

The headquarters of the newspaper is located in Courbevoie near Paris. 2008 Stephen Dunbar -Johnson was appointed editor of the former International Herald Tribune.

The newspaper is printed six days a week at 38 locations worldwide and sold in more than 160 countries. It has a print run of about 242,000 (2007) and 335 employees.

Others

A prominent appearance was the former New York Herald Tribune in 1960 in the film Breathless by Jean -Luc Godard. The main character Patricia Franchini seller is the Tribune in Paris.
