International Power

International Power plc is an international power generation company originated from the splitting of National Power in 2001. At that time the British national business of the company was spun off and renamed first npower RWE Innogy in, from 2 August 2004. The foreign activities were renamed International Power.

International Power was listed on the London Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange ( as ADRs ) listed since October 2, 2000. The ticker symbol on both stock exchanges, IPR, ISIN GB0006320161. After a two and a half years of exclusion, the shares were recorded in March 2005, again in the FTSE 100 Index.

The company is one of the leading independent power producer in the world with a net installed capacity of 16,642 MW and 1,729 MW net power in planning. International Power operates or plans power plants in the following countries: Australia, the USA, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Puerto Rico and Thailand.

International Power is headquartered at Senator House, 85 Queen Victoria Street, London.

International Power was taken on August 10, 2010 over 6 billion euros of GDF Suez.
