International Road Traffic and Accident Database

IRTAD (International Road Traffic and Accident Database ) is a collection of data on traffic accidents in different countries within and outside Europe.

In order to have an easy and quick on international accident data, 1988, the Federal Highway Research Institute ( Federal Highway Research Institute ) has been commissioned to create a database of statistical information on traffic accidents in different countries in order to compare them to. Since 2005, the database is maintained by the OECD in Paris.

Currently, data for the following countries are: Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Great Britain, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Israel, Japan, Canada, Korea ( South Korea), Luxembourg, New Zealand, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary, USA. The data are partly traceable to the year 1970.

IRTAD making it an effective tool for road construction and road authorities, police, automobile clubs, insurance companies and others who need to evaluate the accident developments in international comparison and assess.
