International Socialist Left (Germany)

The isl was founded in 2001. The continuity with the predecessor organizations GIM and IKD is represented among others by Jakob Moneta. According to the Federal Office for Protection of the Constitution, the isl observed in 2006 as a left-wing extremism, the organization had about 60 members at this time and was active in some 15 cities and regions. They stand for a " non-dogmatic Marxism open ". Individual officials would actively participate in the WASG and the anti-globalization movement. Even after the merger of WASG and Left Party for the Left Party isl members want to work there as long as they do not have to give up their positions for it.

After the state elections in North Rhine -Westphalia of 2010, the isl - member Wolfgang Zimmermann was leader of the left and represents the oriented on participation in government wing of the national association.

Together with the " Revolutionary Socialist League" (RSB ) isl is the German part of the reunified Fourth International.

The isl does not publish its own newspaper, but supports the association for solidary perspectives in the publication and dissemination of the Socialist newspaper ( POI ), which is published monthly. Twice a year, they released the free distribution isl pamphlets.
