International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics

The International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics ( ISSI ) is an international trade company, whose aim is to improve communication and the exchange of information between scientists working in scientometrics, informetrics, bibliometrics, Technometrie and webometrics, research and teaching in these fields. The company also wants to contribute to the theory and practice of quantitative science research as well as the mathematical and statistical analysis and modeling of information processes be further developed.

The company was founded in September 1993 in Berlin at the 4th International Conference on Bibliometrics, Informetrics and Scientometrics. Since then, the two -yearly conferences organized by ISSI. Currently, Ronald Rousseau, chairman of the company, the scientists from about 30 countries worldwide.

Quarterly is published ( Webzine ) by the Company, the magazine ISSI Newsletter e- zine.
