International Society of Pharmacovigilance

The International Society of Pharmacovigilance ( ISoP ) is currently the only international professional society whose aim is to promote drug safety (pharmacovigilance ). It was originally founded in 1992 as the European Society of Pharmacovigilance (ESOP ). In 2002, the company was internationalized as ISoP. Office of the Company is London, UK. The members of the society come from the pharmacological / medical university research, the pharmaceutical industry, the authorities in the field of drug approval, such as the European Medicines Agency, the BfArM, the FDA and various NGOs. The ISOP is an associate member of the European Association for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics ( EACPT ), the International Union of Pharmacology ( IUPHAR ) and the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences ( CIOMS ). There is close cooperation with the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology ( ISPE ).

Annual Meetings

In the annual international conferences works from the field of pharmacovigilance are presented. The research results presented here can contribute significantly to increase drug safety. The meeting of 2012 will take place in Cancun, Mexico in October / November.

Training Courses

The ISoP also conducts an annual educational and training courses. Two further education and training is being conducted on June 11th and 12th 2012 in Berlin (in English) instead. The focus of topics is on the imminent far-reaching changes in the on pharmacovigilance in the EU and in Germany.
