International Sport Karate Association

The International Sport Karate Association ( ISKA ) and also International Sport Kickboxing Association is one of the major martial arts organizations. Here kickboxing fights and the ISKA World Championships to be performed. The headquarters of the ISKA is in Jonesville, Florida. The president is Cory Schafer. President of ISKA Germany is Davut Sidal. Among the current officials are Jürgen Leidel (full contact coach men) and Tina Schuessler ISKA national coach ladies ( ring ports).

History

In the early 1970s created the first karate organizations like the WAKO, WKA or PKA. At the beginning of all martial arts were still referred to as karate, until then differentiated in more detail later, such as in Thai boxing, kick boxing or K1.

After various arguments in the Professional Karate Association (PKA ) was founded in 1985 by former members of the PCA ISKA. The first director was Mike Sawyer. The ISKA was able to quickly establish and succeeded the person in charge with the U.S. television network ESPN to address a large number of audience. The ESPN had previously been a TV contract with the PCA.

Each summer, leads the ISKA from Disney World, the U.S. Open ISKA World Martial Arts Championships. She is known worldwide as one of the greatest martial arts events.

After the fall of the Iron Curtain, the ISKA was the first Kickboxing Association, which spread to Eastern Europe.

In 2012, the martial arts event Šteko 's Fight Night was carried out according to the rules of the ISKA World Association. The Šteko 's Fight Night is the biggest kickboxing event in Germany.

Disciplines

In the ISKA light contact kickboxing and full contact kickboxing is fought in the competitive disciplines semi-contact kickboxing. Here, it is fought with hand and foot protectors. A groin guard and mouth guard are required in competition. There is also the disciplines form running with music ( kata), Aero - kicks, MMA, Grappling and Sanda. The best known ISKA World Champion are currently Christine Theiss and Florian Pavic.
