The International Standard Musical Work Code ( ISWC ) is a unique identifier for musical works ( according to the ISBN ). It corresponds to the international standard ISO 15707th

History

The ISWC was developed by the CISAC to adjust the management of rights to compositions to the challenges of the information society. The first ISWC number 1995 for the song "Dancing Queen" by ABBA awarded (T- 000000001-0 ).

Registration ISWC is managed by GEMA in Germany, in Austria from the AKM and in Switzerland by SUISA.
