International Wrestling Association of Japan

The International Wrestling Association ( Japan), IWA Japan, is a Japanese wrestling promotion that was founded in 1994. As an alternative abbreviation is used with under even the IWA Japan.

History

The IWA Japan was founded by Victor Quiñones. Former main sponsor was the Japanese Hotelbsitzer Tatsukuni " Kinroku " Asano.

Internationally known, IWA Japan was with the orientation of a Wrestlingstuniers that was held on 20 August 1995 at Kawasaki Baseball Stadium and officially bore the name " Kawasaki Dream". Unofficially, however, the event was called "King of the Death Match Tournament" and also went by that name in the other wrestling history. This tournament is a modern hardcore wrestling was founded. In addition to local wrestlers who came from leagues such as the FMW and Big Japan, came here mainly American Wrestling sizes. The final match was contested by Mick Foley and Terry Funk and decided by Foley for themselves. But the former NWA champion Dan Severn defended his title at this tournament against Tarzan Goto.

In 1996, the cooperation of the IWA Japan and the NWA was terminated.
