Interuniversity Institute of Valencian Philology

The University Institute of Valencian Philology (Institute Interuniversitari Filologia de Valenciana ( IIFV ) ) was founded in 1987 by a decree issued in 1994 the Valencian government. It is compiled by the three Valencian universities with higher philological studies (ie, the University of Valencia, the University of Alicante and the University Jaume I of Castelló de la Plana ).

Objectives

  • The linguistic and literary study of the Valencian within the general version of the Catalan language and Catalan literature.
  • Teaching and research goals.
  • Advice in all fields that have a kind of relationship with the Valencian linguistic and literary fact.
  • Apart from the autonomy of each university of IIFV will be the only organism on behalf of the universities, the advisory and regulatory ability on philological subjects.

Internal structure

The IIFV has a board of directors, a general council and a council. It also has technical and additional staff and scientists. The Board is composed of 49 experts Valencian Philology. Its members select each four years the Director. You are responsible for achieving the scientific objectives of the IIFVs. The Director ruled together with the Board. The council is composed of eleven experts around the world. Your task is to advise the Board on scientific topics when you request it. The current director of the IIFVs is Ferran Carbó, the professor of Catalan Philology at the University of Valencia.
