Intracom

Intracom is a software and telecommunications company based in Athens.

History

The company was founded by Socrates Kokkalis after his emigration from the GDR in 1977 and played an important role in the transfer of technology to the Eastern bloc, and later, the range of betting and lottery systems was outsourced to the new company Intralot.

Corporate Structure

Intracom Telecom is the largest Greek manufacturer of telecommunication products and offers software and hardware and complete facilities. In June 2006, Intracom was acquired by Sitronics and is now its telecommunications division, while the Intracom Holding remains a 49% minority shareholder. The company owns 51 % of the Group's Russian Sitronics and employs 2600 people, of which 68 % in research and development. Intracom Defense Electronics provides military communications systems here, hellas online is an internet provider, Intrakat is a construction company.
