Intragna

Intragna is a place in the municipality of Cento Valli and is a former municipality in the district Melezza, in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

On 25 October 2009, the municipalities Intragna, Borgnone and Palagnedra merged to form the new municipality of Cento Valli.

Geography

Intragna lies at the eastern end of the Cento Valli at the confluence of Isorno and Melezza. For the former municipality included the villages " Calezzo ", " Corcapolo " with " Salmina ", " Costa ", " Cremaso ", " Golino ," " Pila " Rasa, " Vosa " and Verdasio with " Bolle " and " Sassalto ".

Tourism

Intragna is located on the Cento Valli web which has a large tourist importance. Below the village they crossed with a 82 m high viaduct river Isorno. The web allows for direct connection to Locarno and with the international integrated trains after the Italian Domodossola, which is on the Simplon line. This is via Visp, the fastest connection with public transport in Western Switzerland. Intragna is the starting point of a cable car to Costa with an intermediate station for the town of Pila. In Intragna is the highest with 65.75 m Campanile of Canton.
