Ioan Gruffudd

Ioan Gruffudd ( born October 6, 1973 in Cardiff, Wales ) is a British actor.

Life

Gruffudd started his career at the age of 14 years as an actor in the Welsh soap opera Pobol y Cwm ( 1989-1994). After completing his drama studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, he worked in several projects with; among other things, he played Jeremy Poldark in the same family saga. He received more attention, however, only through the role as 5th Officer Harold Lowe in the Hollywood blockbuster Titanic.

In the English-speaking world, he became known for his performance as the title character of the fictional works of Cecil Scott Forester's Horatio Hornblower. Other leading roles followed, including the role of Solomon in the Welsh drama Solomon & Gaenor, the Best Foreign Language Film was nominated in 2000 for an Oscar in the category.

In 2004, he embodied on the side of Clive Owen ( Arthur) and Keira Knightley ( Guinevere ) in Jerry Bruckheimer's King Arthur the knight Lancelot. In 2005 came the role as Mr. Fantastic in the comic book adaptation of the Fantastic Four. From September 2011 to May 2012, he appeared as Andrew Martin in The CW series Ringer.

With the filming of 102 Dalmatians, he met his current wife Alice Evans know. They married on 14 September 2007 On 20 April 2009 the couple announced that they are expecting their first child.; End of the year they became parents of a daughter. On September 13, 2013 her second daughter was born. The couple currently lives in Los Angeles.

His best friend is Matthew Rhys, who is also Welsh actor. Gruffudd announced the British rock band Keane on at Live Earth at Wembley Stadium. Gruffudd is a member of the Gorsedd of Bards neo-pagan.
