Iolanta

Iolanta (Russian: Иоланта, Iolanta ) is an opera in one act by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky to a libretto of his younger brother Modest Tchaikovsky, based on "King René 's Daughter " the story of the Danish poet Henrik Hertz. The opera bears the opus number 69 and was taken on December 19, 1892, at the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg for the premiere.
