Ion (chocolate)

ION (Greek Ίον, actually, " Violet" ) is a chocolate manufacturer from Athens.

History

Since 1927, ION chocolate is produced, since 1930, the present company exists. Until the 1980s, the chocolate was offered with a strong vanilla flavor (because of vanillin ) exclusively in two variants, Amigdalou (milk chocolate with almonds) and Galaktos (milk chocolate), both of which are still unchanged in packaging and taste. In addition to the dark chocolate Pavlidis (Fast chocolate without milk), this long time were the only chocolate in Greece.

Since the late 1980s there is an additional product line break in square packages with different flavors, the ION ION Ghana and Ecuador, both of which are strong or not containing cocoa, and differ only in the cocoa varieties since 2005.
