Ion Dumitru

Ion " Lita " Dumitru ( born January 2, 1950 in Rosu, Ilfov County ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. He was twice Romania's player of the year and completed 442 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A. In addition, he participated in the World Cup 1970 in Mexico part.

Career as a player

The 169 -centimeter-tall defensive midfielder began his career in 1963 under Confectia Bucharest and Rapid Bucharest joined in 1964, where he debuted on March 10, 1968 against FC Arges Pitesti in Divizia A. He remained until 1972, at Rapid before he went to the local rivals Steaua Bucharest after winning the Cup final. After two league titles and two cup victories with the military club, he moved in 1980 to Politehnica Timişoara, with whom he was once again in 1981 in the cup final. 1982 moved to Universitatea Craiova Dumitru, there came only in four championship games used. He left the club in 1983 to spend the following season in the second division CFR Timişoara and then at UM Timişoara as player-coach. 1984 returned back to Politehnica Timişoara Dumitru, and changed during the winter break of the 1985/86 season as player-coach at his old club Rapid Bucharest, where he played his last game in the Premier League on 19 June 1988. He brought it to 2 goals in 27 European games.

National

Dumitru completed 50 games for the Romanian national team and scored 10 goals. He made his debut on February 9, 1970 against Peru. With the Football World Cup 1970 in Mexico coach Angelo Niculescu put him in all three games. Seven other countries games in which Dumitru scored two goals were disallowed retrospectively in 1999 by FIFA, as they had been discharged within the qualification for the Olympic Games. Furthermore denied Dumitru 7 games for the U23 national team of Romania, where, however, he did not score.

Career as a coach

First experience as a coach Dumitru already collected in seriner role as player-coach during the last years of his active career. 1988 first tried to break into the Federal Republic of Germany foot, where he had settled during a trip Dumitru. Trying to make the morning with a furniture transport trucks and afternoon as an amateur coach in the lower leagues money, but failed. The lack of funds could Dumitru attend training at the German Sport University Cologne, to acquire the coaching license and instead visited private schools football. Therefore, in 1990 he returned to Romania to work as a coach. With the support of his former goal Cornel Dinu took Dumitru 1994 FC Naţional Bucharest, where he had but to resign in April 1995 after the 24th game day. Following the 1994/95 season, he joined the second division Jiul Petrosani, with which he succeeded Earned promotion to the Divizia A. In the 1996/97 season he was in charge Jiul on the first two match days and then moved to Rapid Bucharest, where he was released in March 1997. In 1998 he was coach at Rocar Bucharest for a short time. In September 1998, he was suspended for six months after he was attacked at the home game against FC Braşov Rocar of the referee physically. Dumitru took advantage of the prohibition in their own country to go to Syria to Al- Jaish. With the club in 1999 he was a Syrian champion and reached the final of the Arab Club Champions Cup and the Cup Winners Cup Arab Club in the same year. Following Dumitru moved to Saudi Arabia to Al -Tai Hail, with which he, however, descended from the Premier League at the end of the 2000 season.

In November 2000 he moved to the second division to FCM Politehnica Iaşi, but he had to leave on 1 April 2001, as the club was Table. By the end of the season 2000/ 01 he took over the league rivals Callatis Mangalia. As Gheorghe Hagi shortly after the national team of Romania took over as coach, Dumitru was appointed in July 2001 to the supervisor of the U19 national team and missed his team just to qualify for the European Championships in Norway. In 2002 he left the country again in the direction of Germany to train in the season 2002/ 03 the Association division VfR Heilbronn, before joining as a youth coach for Al -Hilal in Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2003. Still in the same year Dumitru returned to Romania and was youth coach at Rapid Bucharest.

During the winter break of the 2005/06 season the relegation threatened third division Argesul Mihăileşti merged with the fourth division CS Concordia Chiajna. Ion Dumitru took over in early 2006 the post of technical director at the new club, the third division football team in the second half under the name Concordia Chiajna - took Mihăileşti and could only on the final day avoid relegation in the Viertklassigkeit. Before the start of the new season, the team from the League IV was converted into a youth team and the team from the league III received the now vacant name Concordia Chiajna. Dumitru solved there from Vasile Bardes as a coach and managed to 2007 with the club promotion to the Liga II Ion Dumitru was then in November 2007 as an honorary citizen of the community Chiajna, which also includes his birth village Rosu heard appointed. After the eighth round of the second division season 2008/ 09 Ion Dumitru was replaced by Dumitru Bolborea as a coach. He remained the club as technical director received and accepted 5 October 2009 re- training, following the decision to downgrade the acting coach Adrian Bumbescu to assistant coach. The contract was terminated due to lack of success with Dumitru On April 6, 2010. He emigrated with his family to Germany to work in the company of a friend. On 11 January 2011 he became coach of the second team of Steaua Bucharest in the Liga II, with which he could achieve only two draws in four championship games. Dumitru subsequently announced on 30 March 2011, but the club remained until the summer of 2011. Since then he has worked as a children's and youth coach at Concordia Chiajna.

Relationship

Ion is the father of midfielder Claudiu Dumitru ( born 1980 ), who played for Rapid Bucharest, Jiul Petrosani, 1998 Rocar Bucharest and in the 2000 /01 season in the second division FCM Politehnica Iaşi before he unsuccessfully tried his luck in Germany and Israel and in January 2002 returned to Poli Unirea Iaşi.
