Iopamidol is an iodine-containing agent which is used in medicine as contrast agents. Administered intravenously, it serves for the representation of blood vessels ( angiography ) in the X-ray examination. Since the drug is completely excreted by the kidney, it is also suitable for excretory urography and determination of renal clearance. Is administered intrathecal iopamidol used for myelography and the presentation of the cerebral ventricles.
