Iotacism

Itazismus (Greek, also Iotazismus ) the particularly of Reuchlin and Melanchthon advocated as the successor of the Byzantine scholars of the Renaissance pronunciation of the Greek, the eta (long e) as Ita ( i) pronounced and even the strongly deviating from the rest of Europe pronunciation of the Greeks was taken as a guideline.
