Iowa Energy

The Iowa Energy are a team of the NBA Development League, which is based in Des Moines ( Iowa). Their home games played in the Energy Wells Fargo Arena.

History

The team was founded in 2007 as part of an extension of the D -League and settled under the name Iowa Energy as a " farm team " in Des Moines. At the beginning of the Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat were assigned as partner teams in the NBA the Energy. 2008, the partnership with the Miami Heat was however terminated. Instead, the Phoenix Suns were presented as a new partner team. This remained until 2011 Partner of Energy before the New Orleans Hornets and Washington Wizards new partners were. 2012 finally got still the Denver Nuggets the right to poach from the Energy Player or turn off the Energy own.

Their first game won the Energy on 23 November 2007 with a 101 to 99 victory over the Dakota Wizards. Both in the 2008/2009 season, as well as the 2009/2010 Energy could reach the play -offs of the D- League. 2011, it was the energy to penetrate the final of the D -League Playoffs and defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers there. It is the first title in team history.
