Ipernity

Ipernity is a commercial web platform with community functions, account for the user digital content such as images or videos in the longer term publicly available and can be provided with keywords and other metadata. History

The two French programmer Christophe Ruelle and Christian Conti started in 2005 to work on the platform. In May 2006, a first alpha version was tentatively connected to the grid in April 2007, the public beta phase was opened. Since October 10, 2008 is the public API. ipernity asserted itself in December 2008 at the second annual Open Web Awards by Mashable as the best photo sharing platform. As a result of a censorship controversy at the competition site Flickr joined a larger group of users to ipernity, which now has in turn developed similar problems. On April 9, 2013, the beta phase of ipernity ended with the re-launch of a new website, after which the layout of the former appearance of Flickr largely accessible.
