iPlanet

IPlanet is a series of software company Sun Microsystems, consisting of various internet, content management and e-commerce - server applications. Best known is the iPlanet Web Server.

IPlanet was originally a line of Netscape Communications. After AOL Netscape had bought, iPlanet was outsourced as a separate company.

In 2002, iPlanet Inc. of Sun Microsystems was purchased and integrated into Sun's Java Enterprise System.
