Iput II.

Iput II was a Queen of Ancient Egyptian 6th Dynasty. She was the wife of Pharaoh Pepi II Children from this marriage are not known.

Tomb

For Iput II a royal pyramid was built northwest of the plant grave of her husband. The building has a side length of 22 m and was originally 15.8 meters high, is now, however, almost completely destroyed. The east and south sides are framed by a mortuary temple. On the southeast corner of the grave construction is a small cult pyramid. An outstanding Fund represents the sarcophagus lid: On it is an inscription is engraved, which was at the time of discovery to illegible to decipher them. In the meantime, however, this is managed with modern photographic technology, and it turned out that the inscription contains remains of the royal annals of the 6th Dynasty.
