Ira Losco

Ira Losco (born 31 July 1981 in Sliema) is a Maltese singer. It is one of the most successful of the island state.

Career

Losco started her career in the school band tiara. Their first album, Hi- Fidelity included their biggest hit basketball, later followed by the album Butterfly. The band broke up after Ira Losco was selected as the representative of Malta in the Euro Vision Song Contest 2002. This participation was followed by other successful songs, they sang, for example, with Reaching Higher the official song of the Games of the Small States of Europe 2003, which took place in Malta. In addition, they brought with Get Out! also a single in Germany on the market.

Euro Vision Song Contest

Ira Losco in 2002 went with the song 7th Wonder at the Euro Vision Song Contest for Malta. Her song was written by Philip Vella and Gerard James Borg. The performance in Tallinn Losco was, much to the delight of the host country, supported by five singers in the background choir, which are very popular in Estonia. These were Kaire Vilgats, Liisi Koikson, Dagmar Oja, Airi Allvee and Jelena Juzik.
