Iragna

Iragna is a municipality in the district of Riviera, in the district of Riviera in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

The first documentary mention as Inagna is dated to the year 1210.

Geography

The village is situated at the mouth of the Val d' Iragna in the Valle Leventina, while the municipality extends to the level of the border of the Val Verzasca. The Val d' Iragna once had an extensive Alpwirtschaft on, but today all are abandoned Alps and the valley is relatively wild.
