Iranian Students News Agency

The Iranian Students News Agency ( ISNA ), a run of Iranian university students news agency. It was founded on November 4, 1999 with the aim to spread news from the universities of Iran. Today, it covers national and international issues. The approximately 1000 authors and correspondents are mostly students and often volunteers. ISNA is considered to be relatively independent and moderate organization and is widely quoted in the Western media.

The Supreme Leader controls ISNA, through the Head of the state-owned radio and television stations, the student organization supported ISNA jihad. Founder and first director was the autumn of 2005 Abolfazl Fateh, who often had to appear to court hearings, as in the case of a report on the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi, who also works as a human rights activist.

The web host The Planet ended in January 2005, one-sided spreading the websites of the ISNA web server. According to ISN, this was not substantiated and submitted until 48 hours before. Iranian officials accused later became the United States of America, to have ordered this shutdown. Through this incident, voices were raised in Iran, who demanded a separate satellite technology to disseminate messages.
