Ireland men's national ice hockey team

The Irish national hockey team of men led after the World Cup 2012 in the IIHF World Ranking at number 42. It represents players from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

History

After the Irish Ice Hockey Association was incorporated in May 1996 in the International Ice Hockey Federation, Ireland took off in 2001 initially only at U18 and U20 World championships before 2004, the premiere was followed in international senior hockey. With the second place in the tournament of Division III in 2007 for the first time succeeded in rising from the lowest league. The following year, but was followed by the immediate descent. Even after the rise 2010 the team was relegated a year later by return again.
