Irene Doukaina

Irene Dukaina (Greek Ειρήνη Δούκαινα, Bulgarian Ирина Дукина / Irina Dukina, born December 2, 1066 Konstantin Opel, † February 19, 1123 or 1133) was the wife of Emperor Alexios I Komnenos Byzantine empress. Both had seven children, including John II, and Anna Comnena.

Irene Dukaina is the daughter of Marija of Bulgaria and Caesars Andronikos Dukas. Mother's side she is a descendant of the Bulgarian Tsar Ivan Vladislav. Her father was a cousin of the Emperor Constantine X..
