Irène Pusterla

Irene Pusterla ( born June 21, 1988 in Mendrisio ) is a Swiss athlete. She holds the Swiss Records in the long jump and the triple jump.

The Ticino in 2008 was Swiss champion in the long jump and scored with a width of 6.32 m, the Swiss season best of this year. 2009 she won the Indoor Athletics Championships in Turin twelfth grade, at the U23 European Athletics Championships in Kaunas in seventh place, respectively in the long jump. The end of 2009 was recorded Pusterla World Class potential of Swiss Athletics in the support program.

17 July 2010 Pusterla presented at the Swiss Championships of 6.76 m a new national record in long jump on. The old record of Meta Antenen until then had held for 39 years. At the European Championships in Barcelona in late July she missed 13 out nearly the final. End of the year she was elected to the Swiss track and field athlete of the year.

At the Indoor Athletics Championships 2011 Pusterla reached the final of the long jump. On 23 June 2011 it improved to a meeting in Chiasso their own national record in long jump at 6.81m. This Pusterla also met the limits for the World Championships in Daegu. After Pusterla had first apart from participating in early August but she decided to participate in the World Championships. On 20 August 2011 she improved a meeting in Chiasso again her own national record in long jump at 6.84 meters. At the World Athletics Championships, she could not qualify for the final itself. End of the season they took on their only triple-jump competition of the year the national record with a distance of 13.42 m.

2012 Pusterla reached at the European Championships in Helsinki 6th place, but missed the Olympic Games in London the final.

Pusterla starts for VIGOR Ligornetto, trains them is by Andrea Salvadè. She studied psychology at the University of Lausanne.
