Iridium ( V ) fluoride is an inorganic chemical compound of the iridium from the group of fluorides. It was described in 1965 by Neil Bartlett for the first time.

Production and representation

Iridium ( V ) fluoride can be obtained by the reaction of iridium with fluorine at 350 ° C.

It can be represented with silicon by reduction of iridium (VI ) fluoride.

Iridium (V ) fluoride is a yellow crystalline solid. It has a monoclinic crystal structure and is present as a tetramer.
