The Gold Stripe Iris (Iris chrysographes ) is a plant of the genus Iris (Iris ) within the family of Iris Family ( Iridaceae ). It forms with Iris Iris sibirica forrestii and hybrids.

Features

The Gold Stripe Sword lily is a perennial plant that forms a Rhizomhorst and plant height of 35 to 50 reached (rarely from 25 ) centimeters. The leaves are 10 to 15 millimeters wide. The flowers are fragrant and have a diameter of 6 to 7 centimeters. The Domblätter are directed obliquely upward. The hanging leaves are colored velvety dark purple. Your plate is marked yellow gold and hangs vertically.

The flowering time is in June.

Occurrence

The Gold Stripe Iris comes in Southwest China before in Yunnan, Sichuan and southeastern Tibet. It grows best in moist mountain meadows on calcareous soils at altitudes 1200-4400 meters.

Use

The Gold Stripe iris is rarely used as an ornamental plant for natural gardens and riverbanks. It is in culture at least since 1908. The variety ' Rubella ' has dark colored flowers.
