Irish Chamber Orchestra

The Irish Chamber Orchestra (ICO ) is an orchestra of the University of Limerick and is composed of Irish and international players. Since January 2006, Anthony Marwood has held the position of Artistic Director.

Great success won the ensemble on his Asian tour, during which it was celebrated by the audience stormy. In addition, the orchestra played throughout Europe and the U.S., including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. Their repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary literature.

Famous soloists who have been involved include: Nigel Kennedy, Bruno Giuranna, Mariana Sîrbu and Günter Pichler. Recently, in May 2005, found the last series of concerts and tour with the conductor Sir James Galway, the MBNA Shannon International Music Festival ( in July ) and concerts with the violinist Maxim Vengerov in November 2005.
