Action against file sharing

The IRMA agreed with the Irish telecommunications company Eircom to monitor using a third party organization Eircom users when downloading music piracy. In this system, the " Three strikes and you are out " system should be used. However, the agreement was met with the Digital Rights Ireland and IrelandOffline criticism.

The organization sent lawyer letters to different companies, including the web hosts Blacknight solutions, whose managing director Michele Neylon published the letter on the company's website. Although Blacknight Solutions is not an Internet service provider, then they received a letter in which it was offered to negotiate a similar arrangement as with Eircom.

Protests against the actions of the IRMA organized by the Digital Rights Ireland and Blackout Ireland.
